School Days

School has once again started here. LaLa started last Thursday and KiKi started today. While I was excited to get LaLa back to school, I was of course a little apprehensive about sending my baby to nursery school. All worry thankfully was for not. She went happily into class and settled down at a table and started playing before I even had time to hang up her jacket and book bag. A quick kiss good bye and I left KiKi to start her school days adventure. Upon picking her up, I was greeted with a shout of "Mommy!" and a gigantic hug. My heart swelled and it felt good to be needed again. Of course, having the house quiet for 2 hours this morning was also nice....

  2. ahh worry, it is a mothers life time job! ;oD
With now 3 adult children (such an oxymoron?) and a 17 yo still at home well let me put it this way, I long for the days of worrying about that first day of school!
arent afternoons when they get home the best though?

  3. Excellent.

Max starts at little big school, for the first time tomorrow. I'm terrified, but I'm sure he'll breeze it.

  6. They grow up fast, but that 2 hours of silence in the morning? Oh, that is nice. Really nice. Almost as nice as the first glass of chilled white wine in the evening. x

  13. i am addicted to school. this 3 day weekend nearly killed me. i actually wish it went from like 8 am to 6 pm. or maybe even 7. then just home, supper, and bed. a lot less fighting would occur that way!

Brought to mind when I first took mine to kindergarten and school Kat; those hugs at the end of day are priceless.

  16. I call those "The Run To". I LOVE it when they shout your name, run toward you at full force and ram your legs with a hug so big a bear would be jealous :)
