LaLa- "I want a waffle."
KiKi- "Yeah, I want waffle toooo."
"Ummm we don't have any waffles"
KiKi- "Make some waffle"
"I don't have anything to make waffles with"
"LaLa do you want some cereal?"
LaLa "Yeah, but with no milk" (she wants to sit in the living room and watch tv while she eats obviously...)
KiKi- "Want some yoghurt"
"Ummm I don't think we have yoghurt... *checking fridge* Nope, we don't have yoghurt.."
She pouts and wanders off. I bring her a bowl of dry cereal hoping that she will just do what her sister does.
KiKi- "I want milk in it!"
"If you want milk, you have to go to the kitchen"
She gets milk in her cereal, eats one bite then goes back to the living room to watch TV. Glad I could be of service....

I do the same thing here only with popcorn. It's the only thing I allow them to take in the living room. Drives 'em nuts. :D

You must learn to offer only what's available, and then only 2 options.
My daughter: "Baba!"
Me: "You want a bottle?"
My daughter: "Baba milk!"
Me: "Okay, here you go."
My daughter: "No!"

Yep we are just one giant serving machine to kids.
I recently bought "pancakes in a can" so that I don't have to actually MAKE anything. It is like a Redi-whip can, but contains pancake batter. They're not really very good, but The Girl seems to like them okay.
As for the cat, it is nice to know there is scientific validation, I guess.
Meh. I just give 'em a cup of coffee and send them on their way.

the only way i can get oscar to eat anything for breakfast is to just hand him something (breakfast bar, waffle, dry ceral, etc.) and that only works about half the time. if i ask him what he wants, he just say, "no! no!"
sigh, why oh why?
