My computer is dying. I got the blue screen of death 5 times today. I am seriously thankful it is working long enough for me to post this. So if I don't visit any of you guys or I don't post for the next couple of days it is because my lap top D-I-E-D. I am trying to get a computer cord for my desktop computer but tomorrow is Good Friday, which is a bank holiday so the shops will be closed. I am backing up this computer on my external hard drive right now and hoping for the best. *crosses fingers* Then I will try to reformat and hope that my hard drive really isn't screwed like the computer keeps telling me.
Convo with the Captain
Me: I need to go get a computer cord, but the shops are closed because it is Good Friday.
Captain Dumbass: Damned religious holidays!
If Jesus were here now, he'd have a computer and he'd understand. Then again, he'd probably have really good tech support.
I wish I had really good tech support right now.

PC World will most likely be open, they only close for Christmas day I think.
Computer problems, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Good luck girl! Tell Captain Dumbass that Jesus' computer wouldn't ever go down in the first place. ;)
In addition, I think Jesus would have a kick ass blog.
Tell Melissa Jesus would use a Mac. Oh! Ya, I went there.
As one with a wonky laptop of her own, I have my fingers crossed for you!
My son just had Best Buy replace his hard drive. Hardly cost a thing. Not sure if they are across the pond or not.
Good luck with the backup.
that totally sucks. at least you are making a back up!
Rats! I forgot about the holiday tomorrow.... I guess that means it is an extra big deal that this teacher is coming in to the school special to talk to me, huh?
My trip has been a complete success, btw!! Absolutely love it here and found an awesome place. :) I am now officially psyched about meeting you sometime in the Autumn!!
I hope the reformatting helped and you were able to get everything backed up before anything bad happened.
LMAO @ the convo. He's right though... And so is Mama Dawg.
So, if your computer gets resurrected on Sunday, are we supposed to treat that as a miracle?
WHAT?! Captain went there! Why can't I?
Maybe I should give up computers for Lent...
Oh, noooo! I've had a few of those troubles lately, and it's so not fun.
My laptop died last week so I can sympathize, however it was the hard drive and I just got the new one today!! Good luck with yours!
Good tech support is hard to find.
Good luck!
I see someone beat me to it, my first thought was "Jesus would have a Mac (or Linux) but definitely not windows" :-)
I highly recommend the Linux netbooks as a cheap alternative--I've got two and I love them! That's my backup for when my laptop misbehaves (yes, it is a Mac, but I seem to have filled its hard drive and it's struggling a bit...)
I thought Jesus WAS the ultimate computer?!!? No?
There are some utilities out there that can help you with these problems. I would try these first: download Malwarebytes, Spybot Search and Destroy and CCleaner. If at all possible, download these all from another computer, put them on a CD or some other kind of media holding device and then install from there. If you need help, let me know. These programs have saved quite a few computers in my day. There are also a few other things we can try after that...lemme know!
XOXO,
Jess-us.
Kat! I completely feel your pain!!! (my laptop died on Tuesday from a power surge..) I am here sending you tons of good technology vibes!!!
Oh no! Hope things are working out okay! I think Jesus would have understood for sure - I mean, communications was his thing, right?
OH NO! good luck with the puter, damn holiday.
That is not good. Fed Ex is working of Friday. I would have overnighted one to you.
The sad thing is that every store is open here in the States on EASTER! Forget Good Friday! Makes me wonder.... hmmmm....
Bummer! I hate when this happens. Good luck!
