It first started out as a low growl directed to the TV. A warning shot if you will. The it progressed to a little one off bark. She definitely disapproved of the badly behaved Yorkies. Next thing I know she is standing on the sofa, hair raised on her back full out barking at the television. I have never seen anything like it. She was actually pissed off at the unstable dogs on the TV. Now the funny thing is, once Caesar had relieved the dogs of their bad behaviors Elizabeth went back to sleeping on the couch, well until the next badly behaved dog appeared.
This time it was a overly dominant German Shepherd. Low growl, bark, then full on barking once again. Of course I told her to knock it off and she laid back down, but you could tell that she was not comfortable until Caesar had worked his magic. It was one of the strangest things I have ever seen. Elizabeth on of the most calm and submissive (Caesars terms, not mine) had lost her cool with dogs that weren't even physically here.
Now the question is, should I continue to watch The Dog Whisperer or avoid it? Should I make Elizabeth watch these badly behaved pooches? It is still up in the air.

That is hilarious; the mental image gave me a good giggle! I miss having a dog! I'm not allowed one in my current flat, and my ex got our dog in the divorce... and promptly got rid of him without telling me :-(
Let her watch it and express herself - she obviously disapproves of yobbish behaviour. Although you won't see much of the program yourself, Elizabeth sounds far more entertaining. You should video it.
So long as she isn't hurting anything or anyone, let her bark it out.
I reckon it just proves that Caesar isn't quite as good as he makes out!
my pups would always lose their cool if they heard a dog bark on tv. we knew which commercials had barking and we'd dive for the mute button every time they appeared on screen. dogs are weird.
If you just want to mess with her head (always a fun pass time) then go ahead and watch it though you wouldn't want her to pick up any bad habits.
Even if it was that way, I dont think caesar would be game due to your lack of a certain appendage...
Let her watch, but make sure she understands that if she starts picking up bad habits she loses her tv privileges.

My two seem to lose their cool when someone on tv rings the doorbell or Spite knocks on the pantry door. They know she's doing it, but head to the front door for some barking practice anyway.

My two cast a cursory glance but that's all. However my parents had a whippet once that hated elephants. Like Elizabeth she would get really weird. We often wondered what it was she disliked about them.
Do it! Let the dog get involved. My dog enjoyed Marley and Me (I think).

I say keep watching it. Maybe in her own mind, Elizabeth is letting you know how good you have it with her around being such a good dog (minus that pesky puppies incident, of course...heh!)!
Hahaha your dog seems to have issue with other dogs' bad manners. Its kind of cute.

That is hilarious! My Doc barks and barks at the TV when I watch good ole Ceasar. His hair also stands up in a mohawk down his back! :-)
