RTT- I Believe That My Brains Are Scrambled

Tuesday!! It's my favorite day of the week again! Time for Random Tuesday Thoughts. This is where I take my scrambled brain and serve it up ala Kat to the interwebz. Oh and these are gonna be good ones folks. Head on over to Keely's place grab the button and play along!

randomtuesday

So far we have been to Windsor Castle, Ely Cathedral, Norwich Castle, and the Norwich Cathedral. I am exhausted and I think my feet may soon fall off my body.

So we were driving back from Norwich yesterday and my mom said "What the Frankfurter!" I have now adopted this substitute for WTF. "Beans and Wieners!" also sounds like it can be a good exclamation. i.e. "Beans and Wieners, I forgot to feed the cat!" It also incorporates my love of encased meats.

You know what a really good feeling is? When you are going through a roundabout knowing you are most likely the only American driving there and there is a horn behind you and you KNOW it wasn't directed at you. Sweet vindication!!!

It has been HOT here, well hot for England. Like 80 degrees . I am about to melt not having AC. POW Sam Kitty is having to take up permanent residence in the bathroom because he will escape if we don't lock him up. Ok, so he is only in there a few hours in the afternoon while we cool off the house, but he has been quite surly to us due to his incarceration (not that that is anything new).

Captain Dumbass sent the girls a couple of stuffed animals from the Winter Olympics that are being held in Vancouver in 2010. KiKi named them "Yes" and "No" (No, was first, I think it is cause she hears that word the most).

DO NOT GET RID OF YOUR UMBRELLA STROLLER UNTIL YOUR CHILD CAN WALK A MILE AND NOT ASK TO BE CARRIED!! Seriously, my arms are like jelly. In Norwich yesterday we broke down and bought a new one.

I am not going ANYWHERE today. I am gonna sit on my badonkadonk and read and rest my feet. After climbing 900 year old spiral staircases, walking around 3 cathedrals, 2 castles, and the city streets of 3 cities my old dogs are barking!

OK I think I am done. Boy do I feel better.

Getting rid of all baby stuff = getting pregnant again.

You must be castled out. Your mother is a hoot. What the Frankfurter! LOL.

I love the Beans and Wieners! I'm going to have to remember that one. And it's hot as hades here in, well I would say hades but it's really just Germany. Anyway, it's like 84 and I'm packing stuff and I feel like I'm going to melt.
I'm in the opposite position for strollers. I've got a million and the kid screams every time I force her into one. Seriously, you can't make them happy no matter what you do!

Happy RTT!

Yep,that mother of yours is a hoot and must have been fun to grow up with. Stick those dogs in a tub of cool water!

That completely cracks me up that she named them yes and no.

Your mom is a riot! And let's delve a little deeper into this love you have for encased meats, shall we?

Well, at least she'll remember their names.

What the Frankfurter? You have figured out the British roundabout! Well, good on ya then.

Now go let Sam Kitty out.

Happy RTT

I sometimes switch the voice on my satnav to American, just to have a giggle at the terminology they use.

i also did the whole "get rid of the stroller, we don't need it anymore" thing.

and then my "baby" still liked to be carried around at the age of six. not that we caved or anything;)

i had to buy a new umbrella stroller while @ the zoo, just 'cause i couldn't listen to her incessant "mommy my legs are tired" for three hours:)

Oh it's really hot in Germany as well.. and you know, really humid.. which makes things even harder..but good thing we bought an AC last year.. so we're good as long as we're inside the house:)
Happy Randomness!

I would love to have 80s hotness...better than our 100s hotness. But we have humidity thrown in for fun.

Sounds like fun touring castles and cathedrals.

Happy RTT!

Oh error with the buggy.

My friend has a moped thing that she calls badonkadonk but shortens it to donk.

Beans and Wieners. Perfect.

Wooooah on the culture! It's been there for a long time - it'll still be there for a bit.

YOur parents sound GREAT.

My own RTT!

Sounds like you had a blast... I loved travelling in Europe, although we did most when we were without kids or when I was pregnant! Paris 8 months pregnant = not so happy wife!

Oh I hear a whole lotta whining! How luck you are to be on such a nice trip with family! Teddies called "Yes" and "No" - awesome. Maybe she'll start using them to answer questions. That would be weird. Never mind.

Have a fun resting and reading! I took two hours to cuddle with Pride and Prejudice this morning and I loved it!!!

Happy RTT!
I played too!

Tired yes, but you will remember all this fondly one day...
Know what you mean about the stroller; hated to see that baby go. Carried whining kids plus all our gear. Ah, the good ole days.
Rest up.

She named them Yes and No. How cute is that? I wilt without air conditioning. Poor you.

Having recently walked all. over. Washington. D. C. I feel your pain. Thank gawd my baby is 14 and no longer needs to be carried (although he can whiiiiiiiiiine like a little baby when it suits him).

What the Beans and Wieners is a "badonkadonk" - is that some lovely British slang for sofa, or is that what you call, well, your badonkadonk?

otin said...

The roundabout comment made me think of the chevy chase vacation movie where they keep going around in circles and he keeps saying, "look kids, big ben, parliament"! It was not a great movie, but a funny as hell scene!

Jen said...

"Beans and Weiners" I am totally using that. Awesome!

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog. And OMG - I can't believe I have found another UK blogger (ok, technically it's cheating if you've moved here but that's not the point lol) - do you know how rare we are in the blogosphere? Woohoo!

Ok, coming down from my humidity-induced tiredness :-)

Jealous of your touring! Sounds like a blast. I'm a big sucker for historical touring and foreign countries....ok let's face it. I'm just a sucker for leaving my house!

Beans and Wieners? Nice!

I'm going to steal that frankfurter phrase, it's genius.

We have a few roundabouts here and I feel like a tourist when I go through them. They're unnatural.

Enjoy today---R & R----rest and read!

Moonspun said...

the frankfurter phrase is very funny. I love hearing about life in England. We Vermonters melt in 80 degree weather, too. Very few of us have ac.
