Kat, this is great advice. Now, we have to get you comfortable with the camera! Find a friend who will read the questions to you that you want to answer, and focus on talking to them. Or have a couple beers, and pretend Jess is there!

LOL ohh, she is totally comfortable during our Skyping sessions! Of course we are pretty loaded at that point...
I have not technically PCSed with J yet. However I've helped him pack up and drove cross country with him for one of his PSC's. I'm excited to see where traveling leads us to on this military adventure. I totally believe in making the best of what you get. I didn't think that I could handle this at first but having moved down from NY where I spent my whole life for the most part, I don't have any problems with it now. I'm interested to see if what civilians think of the lifestyle! Great points Kat! Love the video!
I am not military and never have been. So hearing this is an eye-opener for me. That has to be so difficult! And with kids, doubly so. On one hand it sounds romantic to live and visit foreign places. But on the other hand, not so much! Starting over every two or three years??? Ouch!! I applaud those who are doing this and thank you for your service. I just don't think I could do it.
Hugs

To ask my mother she says it was the best thing ever moving from country to country, but then she will mention things about how she wished she had kept friends like I have. I went to school with the same people from 3rd grade on and I DO think that is great.

However, if this is the life you and your kids will be living, they won't know any different and if played just right they will have lifelong friends in each of the places they have visited.

Krystal moved around alot with her family when they were in the Air Force, but did get to stay in one spot for her entire high school career, which is what has lead to her closest friends.
I know nothing about military other than the uniforms make everyone look extra extra hot. Watching this video is a crazy eye opener. I am having a hard time moving from my house and I WANT to move out. I can't imagine what it must be like to just HAVE to move. Whether you want to or not, without much choice as to where you're going, and with KIDS!?
My respects to you and your family Kat!

I am so glad you found me and vice versa. We are currently stationed at RAFL, too! Please email me @ CajunBombShell1@yahoo.com. I would love to meet you, get to know you, or hang out or whatever :)
As long as you are ok, the girls will be ok when you move. I had all those concerns when we were moving around with your mom and aunt while we were in the Army. I had the opportunity to talk with a child psychologist about it and she said as long as the mother adapted the children would be fine. I think both our girls turned out fine with no tramatic effects on their lives. Children are resilient and it just takes them a short while to adapt to new surroundings.

Hugs and kisses to all

Hey! I just found your blog via (Mil)ing it over. I like what you said about enjoying the good parts and ignoring the not-so-good parts! That's very true!
