This is one of the grandfather oaks at the wildlife preserve near my house. I love looking at these trees. They are truly impressive. How long have they been there? What have they seen? How many children have climbed their branches?
Oak trees always remind me of being a kid....we had some huge ones on the farm I grew up on and I spent many a happy hour climbing on/hiding in/sheltering under them....great picture, brought back happy memories x

Wow, that's a big old chunk of tree! I'm the same - if trees could talk - I bet this one would have some amazing stories to tell.
I commented on someone elses post earlier and said something about trees having so many stories to tell.
That's a huge tree that must have an incredible history.
wowzers, I LOVE that tree. Such an amazing shape and so ancient.
That's an impressive tree. I love really old trees, so much history.
I think the only word to describe that is "majestic".
