The day we went to Cambridge I kept LaLa out of school. I didn't know what time we were going to be back and I didn't want to leave the poor kid stranded at the school. We got there about 10am and it was cold and windy. Cambridge has the river Cam running in between the different Universities that are located there. So, when you tour the University grounds, you are also walking along the Cam. There are also boats that punt on the Cam.
Did I mention it was cold and windy? Yes? Oh well lets add the wind coming off water into the mix. Yeah that sounds like a good idea! But oh, it is so beautiful!
The chapel at Kings College was gourgeous.
Lovely. I feel smarter just looking at the photos.
Gorgeous. I can't wait to get over there!
What's the prank? I couldn't find it...
Oh my gosh.. I am so jealous. I wanna go there!
Hm, not quite getting the whole prank thing. Where's the funny? The pics are gorgeous though!
I think I missed the prank too. Is that an ancient dildo? I just thought it was a scroll. It does look just like a coffee table book. Lucky you.
For those who can't see the prank, it is a table leg that he is holding, not a scepter.
Noooo - it's a chair leg.
Occasionally it's replaced by a toilet brush.
Oooh! Right hand. I thought he was holding a Quidditch ball.
Ah, you should have stopped in and said HI! I won't ride a bike here, they are just too kamikaze.
next time you go, can I come??
So jealous! Don't you need a nanny to come live with you??!!? I don't take up much room!
Can I come live with you? I'll be good, I promise.
Wow! Those pics are amazing! Where did you live while you were in the states? It must be such a crazy change for you there!
they sure know how to impress. Funny how old their culture is and how much of it is still intact.
I could lie and say I figured out the prank, but what would be the point? Cool photos!
Fabulous photos Kat!
You are living my dream right now, I am so jealous!
All right, whats the prank. I've been staring at it for 15 minutes. I can't figure it out!
I see these photos and the first thing that pops into my head is 'quaint.' Everything looks so lovely and rich. So fun that your kids are getting to see some amazing things!
I've never been to Cambridge but have been to Oxford once.
Durham is another place you should go if you like this kind of thing although it's a bit of a hike from Cambridge.
Any of the University cities are the same really, full of big historical buildings. We have lots of castles up here in Northumberland. I'm planning to do a castle blogfest later in the year when they all open up for the season.
Oh the memories, it was such a long time ago!! Hands down it is better then Berkeley! Thanks for sending me the link on twitter to @PeasandBananas You have a great site, and I am sooo jealous of you right now!! Perhaps someday...
oh my God! I haven't been on here in a while and I've been slowly catching up!
Just wanted to add though that a good friend of mine is going to Cambridge right now.....you should meet him...crazy Egyptian, talks too much, hilariously funny, and scarily smart. He also owes me some money....so PLEASE go to Cambridge and get me MY MONEY! looool!!!
