So Many Things in My Head

I have a load of things running through my head today so bear with me. First off I would like to say Google, yes Google, the Google, you suck. I know I live in England and you want me to use google.co.uk. but I want to use just regular old Google. Not that the UK version is bad, but when I go shopping, I want to see things in dollars not pounds. Things sometimes are just not geared towards those who live in a particular country, but deal with the financial system of another. I have had this problem with iTunes as well. Because I live in England, I generally hear the music that is popular over here. Go figure. However iTunes US doesn't have half the songs that I want to download. I tried to switch to the UK version of iTunes, but because my bank technically has a US address not a UK address (even though there is a branch here on the base in the UK) it won't let me. This means my favorite song right now, I can't download it. I have to go to youtube every single time I want to listen to it. Pain in the rear I tell ya.

LaLa got invited to her first birthday party here. A little boy in her class is having his birthday at indoor playground over in one of the neighboring towns. I am really excited. It is the first time she is really going to get to play with kids her own age outside of school since we got here. Of course she plays with Domino's kids, but her youngest is a year older than LaLa and her older one is in middle school. The oldest is really in more of a babysitter/older sister type roll. Not that she minds because she has fun doing things with LaLa. The younger one is a boy though and ewww girls are dumb and gross. Yeah. I hear ya on that one buddy. Just keep that in your head until you are old enough to get married and are out of your mother's house. I am sure she will appriciate not having to worry about you as a teenager.

Have I ever mentioned that LaLa is passive aggressive? Yes, she is the queen of passive aggressiveness. If I say "hurry up" she slows down. Every. Single. Time.

I really want to go to a blogging conference like BlogHer, but there is no way I could afford the airfare. It is too bad that most of the "good" ones are in the USA. Would a blogging conference in London be too much to ask? Then I could take the train down, get to relax, not fly across an ocean...wishful thinking.

That party invite is fantastic, and they soon start to stack up. We have a Sunday coming up that we are trying to squeeze three parties in during one day!

And regarding the music, have you tried Spotify, the on-line streaming service?

LaLa and I must be long long sisters. First for our love of penguins, and now we are both the Queens of Passive Aggressive!

Have you tried Amazonmp3.com? It's my current favorite for buying tunes. I have no idea if it will work over there, but I have to think it might.

Sigh. I'm IN the US and can't afford to go to BlogHer. I feel your pain.

There must be a way to switch the settings in Google from UK to US. If not, fire off an e-mail to 'em. They like to keep their customers happy.

Brace yourself. It seems like if my kids come home with one birthday invitation, they come home with four more the next day, and then I'm spending another day in Target asking them what they want to get as a present, and "No, we're not here for you, so you can't have a toy!"

That song is catchy. Sounds very 60's-ish.

I'm excited for LaLa. I'm sure she'll have a good time.

Assimilation! Yay! :) It's great at her age. She'll probably have her own gang before you know it.

Good for LaLa! I remember being so thrilled when my son got invited to the first few parties.

Then when they kept coming, it got crazy. I finally just bought a bunch of gift cards and birthday cards to have on hand.

Those birthdays really start to stack up after awhile.

You should organize BlogHer UK.

Limewire all the way baby!! Free and lovely! Just how I like it!

Blogging just isn't as big business here in the UK. 'What's a blog?' is the norm and if you told someone there were get togethers for them they would think it was something along the lines of a Star Wars convention. Which it maybe, I don't really know

So living in England is starting to get to you huh?

I'm way too depressed for that chipper of a song, but I could see how a newly-British chick might like it :)

YAY for new little friends!

Boo for no UK conferences!

Ah, so Mr. Bill G has found you out. I remember lugging my Pc over here with me (not worth it, if you're wondering) and gradually seeing all my favorite sites turn into my Favourite sites. I have to force the computer to go to the .com versions of Google, Yahoo, PayPal, Amazon, etc. I hate it when an appliance thinks it knows better than you what you want. That's like your fridge handing you a cucumber when you wanted a carrot.

Did I tell you I'm going to see Take That in June? I'm soooooo excited. I love them more now than the first time round.

If you DO organise a Blog-her or whatever please consider those who live 'up north'. Everything happens in London - Leeds or Manchester would be better.

Thank you.

When I win the lottery next week, I'm totally going to sponsor you to come over for BlogHer. But you might have to bring LaLa because I get such a kick out of her!

Ok, off to go buy those tickets....
