I Should Not Be Allowed To Do This In Public

Bowling. Most people can get a decent score. I am not one of those people. On Friday night The Man and I decided that we needed to get the girls out of the house. Our options bowling, or ummmmm bowling. There isn't much to do around here on a Friday evening without planning ahead, so it was bowling. I knew it wasn't going to go well. I even tweeted and updated my facebook status about my impending doom.

First frame, two gutter balls. Hey, we're just starting, it could happen to anyone. Right? Second frame. I hit one pin. Third frame. I hit four pins on the first go and gutter balled it on the second one. So let me get this straight, after three frames I had hit down 5 pins. Five. I had to tweet about it. Then I got responses about putting bumpers up. Smartasses, I'll show them!

Ok, so I didn't show them. I bowled a 45. Not only did I bowl a 45, but it was witnessed by 4 other guys from my husbands shop who had come into the bowling alley for dinner. Oh and LaLa? She bowled a 95. My five year old daughter beat me by 50 pins. This is why I should not be allowed to do this in public.

Plus side? I didn't have to cook dinner.

Don't forget tomorrow is when I am gonna announce the winners of my Blogoversary Giveaway. Good luck to all those who entered!

180 points for not having to cook dinner!!!

Think I'll plan a bowling evening soon... (and no, I shouldn't bowl in public either).

Bowling, so pointless....you knock 'em down, they stand 'em back up. :-)

I reckon you just let her win. It was a subconscious act of generosity.

I have never bowled before. Not even one time. Unless you count Wii, which I don't. I prefer to keep it this way. My dad used to force us to watch televised bowling when we were kids and I now I find it abhorrent.

I suck at bowling. except for on the Wii for some reason

I don't bowl either. I usually break a finger nail then quit. finger nails vs bowling? = quitter!

Yes, me and you are RIGHT THERE with each other on bowling. It should be outlawed.

Ouch....my husband used to brag about how he could clean my clock at bowling...so we went...he bowled a 75...I bowled a 225...yeah, he had a healthy serving of humble pie...

(I forgot to mention to him that our neighbors owned a bowling alley when I was a kid and I got to bowl for free all the time..I had lots of time to practice! lol!)

Bowling alleys usually have the best French Fries though. At least that's a consolation.

My score goes up when the gutter shields are on. Just a hint for you for next time.

My parents forced me into a bowling league when I was very young. I have not played or entered a bowling alley since.

I find the more beer I drink, the better I bowl

Oh, honey, I, too, am the worst bowler inthe world. I can never break 50. EVER! And honestly, for the safety of others, I pretty much need to have the bumpers up on the lane each time I'm up. My kids can beat me at the game just walking into the alley!

You know, they have those bumper things to put in the gutters...

My husband and his family are high-scoring bowlers. That said, we go bowling about every year and a half. I am all over the map. I remember bowling a 45 and I have scored upwards of 180 (freakishly rare on my part), but we always have fun. And if you don't have to cook dinner, even better!

I always think I bowl pretty good and have been known to beat guys for money but then? My mum comes along and kicks my ass courtesy of her ex-League days...so embarrassing! :-P

You and I should skip bowling together then! I'm pretty much at the same skill level and hate bowling b/c I suck at it! I'm pretty good at Wii bowling though...think I'll stick with that. :o)

That sounds like the scores that I get bowling too.

That's why I play on the Wii - I'm a Wii bowling superstar - not so much in real life.

I don't really like bowling because I've got gigantor thumbs that never seem to fit in the holes unless I get a much heavier ball. I guess they figure whomever can handle a heavy ball is going to be in the mob and have sausage fingers. Not that I know anyone in the mob, but that's the way thier hands always look in the movies and you know movies are a reflection of real life, NOT!

Pollyanna said...

Gosh, I hope no one in the mob comes looking for me because of my last comment.

At least if you had been drinking you'd have an excuse. So next time, hit the sauce early and often. Your children will thank you for it.

Way to go.

I am living off of one game, several years ago when I was on fire, I have been rubbish ever since.
